Mustard Seeds

Earlier this year, The Flow Foundation provided funding for Eastern European Missions (EEM) to create and distribute SD cards containing the Bible and Bible resources to be given to Muslim refugees in the Mediterranean Rim.

EEM has received inspirational reports of how these tiny computer chips are impacting the lives of others.

Here’s a report from one mission work in Greece:

“Twenty-five hundred SD cards were bought and 2,400 were duplicated in the following languages: Farsi, Turkish, Kurdish, Dari, Pashtu, Arabic. We are very blessed [with] a lot of amazing resources that are used in these SD cards such as Bibles, the Jesus Movie, books on PDFs, a lot of videos and audio, and sermons and teaching of the gospel...many people are able to benefit from [these]. We are very blessed.

Recently I was distributing SD cards to some of my friends who were currently living in the refugee camps. They told me what a great idea it was to use these SD cards for the matter of safety because not everyone was able to carry their Bible with them [out of] safety [concerns]. The SD cards make life easier and secure. Also, they don’t always have access to internet. So, they are able to spend a lot of their time reading, studying and growing. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in these refugee camps, for the right people to receive these cards.

We bless you and pray for you. Please pray for us and the ministry. We are so thankful to have you by our side. Grace and peace.”

Another testimony:

“We took around 100 SD cards including Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Kurdish language and we shared it in some refugee camps. We also gave some to friends who are believers there so they can distribute as they encounter the need.

A Christian Afghani leader is using the SD cards in his refugee camp. He told us stories about the people who could not read or write. Those SD cards were perfect for use for them.

I want to say thank you to the ones who provided the SD cards for us. Thank you and God bless you. This is really good for us and very useful. Thank you and God bless you.”

EEM shares that the SD cards are much safer than Bibles for people to use in refugee camps. Also, the audio component of the cards is very helpful for refugees who may be illiterate or limited in their reading abilities.

Who would have imagined that something as small as an SD card placed in someone’s phone could lead these people to Jesus and his message of love, redemption and hope?

Well, I guess Jesus would have imagined it! Listen to this from Matthew 13:31-32

31 Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. 32 It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.”

We should never doubt that Jesus can use even the smallest of things to help declare His great love and truth.

Nothing is too small or insignificant to reach people with the good news that Jesus offers. It is amazing what Jesus can do with five loaves, and two small fish or a mustard seed or an SD card or your financial gift to reach the hearts of people who are hungry for the hope Jesus provides.

Step out and faith and give to help others learn of Jesus.

God’s grace and guidance,

Bruce
